June 21 / Episode Two >
The Casino Realty TV Show
In this episode we witness not
only the landing of a "big fish" but how to keep him happy
(somewhat). Meet Geoff Mills, the 28 year old real estate
mogul who is the 'big fish' or 'whale'. He's in town with
his posse (and huge wads of cash) for a weekend of drinking
and gambling. Tim and Tom quickly lure him away from his
usual haunt Mandalay by promising better odds at their Craps
tables (Geoff's favorite game). Not to mention a 50 thousand
dollar starter credit which Geoff almost immediately blows
through and more. Not only is Geoff losing at Craps, but he
loses 8 grand on a 20 at the Black Jack table (most of us
would think it would be a sure thing to win on a 20. It's
all down hill from here as Geoff's girlfriend loses her
purse which is said to have another 25 thousand dollars in
it! Finally tensions boil over when Geoff and his buddies
start ripping cards at the Baccarat table (which is NOT
illegal as long as surveillance can see the actual numbers).
When surveillance realizes that they can't in fact read the
numbers they notify Tim who reacts by actually going to the
table where Geoff and his crew are playing and proceeds to
confront them himself which only seems to really make the
situation worst. Down 200 thousand dollars Geoff takes his
crew over to Mandalay leaving some of the Nugget executives
in a quandary as to how to get him back. When Geoff returns
the next morning to retrieve his things from the hotel room
he is met by a few upper management types who "schmooze" him
and his friends all day to get him back. Come on guys, after
a high roller loses that kind of coin in your joint it's the
LEAST you can do!
While all this is going on we also meet Virginia, David,
and Beverly. They are swingers in town to find new friends
(many new friends) to play with. While they are at Zax night
club listening to resident big band singer Matt Dusk (who
just happens to be singing 'Love is a loaded bullet') they
notice a young married couple Chris and Maya at another
table. When the happy swingers approach the unsuspecting
couple they are pleased to find that (while at first they
are skittish) they are curious to the lifestyle and agree to
tag along for an evening of partying. Just like that you
ask? Well, after getting extremely close to taking
part in some serious swinging, much to Maya's dismay, Chris
decides that this is not the direction he wants to take his
marriage and asks his wife to leave with him. She really
wanted to stick around, but she left with her husband
anyway!
As far as owners Tim and Tom go, we realize that it is in
fact Tim that still does most of the talking while Tom
pretty much hangs back (walking the hotel's mascot/dog Bally
on the roof). It is here that Tom realizes that the two need
an assistant. They quickly hire a guy named Zack and give
him the title Executive Assist to the Owners. This quickly
translates to "someone else to walk the dog". We'll see what
happens there.
Check back here next week to see what happens when a
feud between a pit boss and a dealer heats up. Also, we'll
see if the new female (who looks a lot like Britney Spears)
singer has what it takes to sing at Zax. Stay tuned -
