AC's Borgata
still huge
success
April 3
In New
Jersey,
The Borgata
Hotel Casino &
Spa is still
king. Atlantic
City has been
having its share
of hard times
when it comes to
successful
casino resorts,
but not when it
come to The
Borgata.
Opened back
in the summer of
2003, Borgata's
casino resort
has over 2,000
hotel rooms and
still towers
over its
competitors
since then.
Reported gross
operating
revenues of
$223.5 million
last year is the
best success
story out of all
AC's 12 casinos.
All together,
Atlantic City's
12 casino
properties made
$1.23 billion
last year. This
is a 5.8%
increase over
2003. This is
even despite a
month-long
strike that
impacted 7 of
the area's
casinos. The
Borgata was not
one of the
casino resorts
hit by the
strike.
In 2003, Borgata
made $67.7
million in
profits.
Considering the
property was
only open half
of the year,
this figure was
staggering for
the area,
crushing its
competitors.
