Charles casino to
open on May
26

In
Louisiana,
Pinnacle
Entertainment
Inc.
announced
that it is
set to
open its new
casino and
hotel
located in
Lake Charles
during the
ever popular
Memorial Day
weekend. The
hotel and
casino is
named L'Auberge du
Lac Hotel &
Casino
and is said
to have cost
a staggering
$365 million
to build.
This past
Tuesday, t he company
reported its
progress to
the Gaming
Control
Board. The
company also
gained a
32-day
extension of
previous
schedules
because
heavy rains
and poor
weather have
stalled
construction.
Pinnacle,
which is
a company
based in Las
Vegas, is using the
state's 15th
and final
riverboat
casino
license. The
license
states that
the new
casino must open
its door for
business by
September
2005.
A
spokesperson
for the
casino said
after the
Tuesday meeting, that
the casino
and hotel
will be open
for business
on May 26.
The new
gambling
property
will have a
26-story
hotel with a
reported 746
rooms, a
full-size
golf course
with 18
holes, 4 restaurants
and a
top-notch spa.
