Trump
leaves so. Indiana
casino plans
behind
February 3
It seems that the
people living in
the south Indiana
where Donald
Trump was going to
build a casino and
golf resort are
lamenting there
loss. In a situation
where most
communities are
against building
gaming resorts, this
communities was very
keen to it. The
community in
general, believed
Trump's plan to
rejuvenate the area
by building a
first-rate casino
and golf resort was
just what the doctor
ordered for the
local lagging
economy.
Not helping Orange
County restore
itself to its
original glory
was not necessarily
Trump's doing.
Trump's casino
company is in
bankruptcy and the
company already owes Indiana money
for another casino
property.
This being said,
Indiana's new Governor,
Mitch Daniels ordered
a review of the casino deal,
fearing that rump
might not be the
best bet for the
development.
The plan's estimated
cost was to be
$108 million.
Yesterday, the
state's gaming
director notified
local officials that
Trump Hotels and
Casino Resorts
Inc.stopped
negotiating for the
deal to be
finalized.
O fficials
at Trump said that a recent state
tax court decision
that the company
already owed $18 million
elsewhere in the
state (back taxes)
for its casino on
Lake Michigan was a
determining factor
in the decision.
Also mentioned for
the decision, was
the potential
for building in
other parts of the
state by Trump.
Whatever the real
reason for the
collapse, there is
always online
gambling for
those in French
Lick.
