Casino
fire
halts
gambling
for
a
bit
April

2007
A fire in a casino will put a hold on gambling until it is deemed safe to
play
again.
The
Topaz
Lodge
and
Casino
will
be
closed
an
uncertain
time
after
sustaining
considerable
fire
damage
in a
fire
that
took
place
two
days
ago.
Tuesday evening was when the fire happened. So when some casino workers
showed
up
for
their
scheduled
work
shifts
Wednesday
they
were
greeted
with
unemployment
- at
least
for
the
time
being
until
the
unknown
amounts
of
damage
can
be
completely
repaired.
Some employees even arrived early Wednesday morning to secure the casino's
gaming
operations.
The
fire,
which
started
in
the
lodge
attic
above
the
business
offices
and
is
still
under
investigation,
is
believed
to
have
been
caused
by
an
electrical
short.
At about 530PM on Tuesday, an office manager was closing down the office
for
the
day
when
the
smoke
alarm
went
off.
When
security
officers
looked
into
the
cause
of
the
alarm,
they
found
the
attic
filled
with
thick
white
smoke.
Then
that
rest
is
history.
The
casino
has
considerable
damage
and
it
will
not
be
known
when
gambling
will
once
again
take
place
until
much
further
investigation
and
estimates
come
rolling
in.
At press time, we have no further details to report to our online gambling
fans
out
there
reading
this
article,
but
we
will
keep
you
posted
if
any
news
worthy
developments
in
the
tragic
matter
take
place.
