Flamingo
to
get
an
overhaul
full
of
upgrades
April
6,
2007
In
online
gambling
news
today,
we
continue
to
report
on
some
casino
improvements
on
land.
In
Las
Vegas,
The
Flamingo
is
enduring
a
revamping
in
efforts
to
redefine
itself
in
the
face
of
better,
more
contemporary
Vegas
Strip
casino
projects.
We
have
always
said
at
this
online
casino
gambling
portal
that
keeping
up
with
the
Jones
is
never
harder
than
it
is
in
Vegas.
Especially
on
the
Strip
In
order
to
restructure
today
would
take
a
ton
of
cash,
but
is
there
really
any
other
way
to
keep
up?
A
key
redesign
of
the
hotel
casino
resort
property,
which
is
already
the
world's
10th
largest
hotel
in
itself,
could
be
part
of a
bigger
plan
it
seems.
A
plan
to
develop
Harrah's
main
Strip
casino
resort
properties,
would
definitely
catapult
the
company
up
to
the
standards
of
the
many
new
and
well
designed
new
casino
resorts
popping
up
all
around
the
Vegas
Strip.
We
have
actually
covered
other
online
gambling
articles
about
other
casinos
doing
upgrades
to
keep
up
with
the
fierce
Vegas
competition.
But
recently,
this
property
we
write
about
today
in
online
gambling
news
is
hammering
its
principal
improvement
money
into
redesigning
and
revamping
about
500
hotel
rooms
this
year
alone.
In
fact,
just
last
year,
the
casino
company
redesigned
and
updated
nearly
640
of
its
casino
property
hotel
rooms.
In a
statement
to
the
press
regarding
the
revamp
issue,
a
company
spokesperson
said
that
the
casino
company
thought
to
invest
in
not
just
a
room
change
but
a
whole
new
room
design.
Additionally
the
rep
said
he
thought
the
properties
prime
asset
was
the
size
of
the
rooms
compared
to
others
in
Vegas.
So,
when
you
add
updates
to
sheer
size,
it
should
be a
winning
combination.
Some
vacationers
would
tell
you
that
rooms
are
not
where
they
are
at
all
times
when
on
holiday
somewhere
–
but
when
it
comes
to
Vegas
– it
matters
what
the
room
offers
almost
more
than
anything
else
a
casino
property
has
to
offer.
We
now
understand
that
the
Flamingo
is
the
biggest
hotel
by
room
in
size
fort
all
of
Harrahs
Entertainment’s
casino
properties
in
the
city.
In
fact,
this
is
the
company
that
has
the
most
rooms
in
the
entire
city.
The
innovative
Go
Rooms,
a
play
on
the
last
2
letters
of
the
name
Flamingo,
are
intended
to
keep
the
hotel
competitive
with
other
casino
properties
on
the
Strip.
The
latest
500
rooms
are
scheduled
to
be
finished
in
about
7
months.
While
we
have
seen
almost
constant
upgrades
to
just
about
all
Vegas
casino
properties,
The
Flamingo
is
clearly
striving
for
cooler,
hipper,
more
modern
look
and
feel
to
it.
After
all,
new
Vegas
customers
and
gambling
fans
are
a
lot
different
than
old
school
visitors.
Going
further
than
the
standard
remodeling
of
floors,
walls,
beds
and
light
fixtures,
a
majority
of
the
plumbing
and
electrical
wiring
will
be
detached
and
replaced
and
new
high
speed
Internet
connections
and
other
energy
updates
that
have
been
developed.
High
speed
Internet
is
almost
a
complete
necessity
for
any
visor
to
hotels
anyway.
Due
to
of
the
age
of
the
Flamingo
hotel
structures
themselves,
a
great
deal
of
the
Flamingo's
infrastructure
had
to
be
remodeled
before
updated
electronics
and
redesigned
bathroom
features
could
even
be
put
into
place.
This
is
what
happens
when
a
building
is
nearing
the
30
year
mark.
Each
newly
appointed
hotel
room
will
be
en
suite
with
a
flat
screen
TVs
and
an
iPod
docking
station
– 2
other
almost
necessities
when
it
comes
to
hotels
these
days.
The
bathtubs
are
being
replaced
with
larger,
more
stylish
showers
and
more.
This
is a
major
overhaul
indeed.
Although
– no
price
tag
on
the
revamp
has
been
publicly
released
yet,
we
believe
it
has
to
be
in
the
millions
and
millions.
While
the
room
remodeling
has
been
a
main
focus
for
the
property
for
the
past
few
years
or
so,
the
Flamingo
still
continues
to
reinvent
itself
in
other
ways
also
–
just
as
you
would
imagine
all
casino
properties
do
in
Vegas.
There
are
great
comedy
entertainment
shows
based
in
the
Flamingo.
Other
great
entertainment
is
also
available
as
well.
The
casino
is
also
another
huge
reason
the
property
manages
so
well.
The
casino
is
also
a
main
draw
do
to
sheer
size.
