NBC to televise poker event

On April 8^th (Sunday), NBC will televise the first episode of the National Heads Up Poker Championship, making many gambling fans very happy. The ratings will be huge it is being predicted that it will be a big success

This televised event will hit all over the US and more. This Sunday’s episode will be featuring all the most loved (and some not so loved) poker greats. Players such as Mike Matusow and many more will be seen ion 2 first roung events which will pair the following: Matusow against Daniel Negreanu and Jennifer Tilly will play up against Jamie Gold. The poker program will continue to air on the next 6 consecutive Sundays in April and May.

For the third straight year, a field of 64 of the world's elite poker players went go head-to-head in some of the most aggressive poker playing around. Filmed in Caesars Palace Poker Room March 2-4, the NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship is a 'who's who' from the poker world. The Championship features 64 of the world's best poker players competing in a series of heads-up (one-on-one games of Texas Hold'em) matches to determine who is the best face-to-face poker player in the world. The tournament has a unique, single-elimination, bracket-style format modeled after college basketball tournaments.

Poker players include some of the most well known names in the game of poker worldwide like Ted Forrest, Chris Ferguson. Also completing will be Joe Hachem, Annie Duke, Johnny Chan, Sam Farha, Mike Matusow, Jamie Gold, Gus Hansen, Jennifer Harman, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer, Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, and Greg Raymer and so many others. So, you can tell it will be an NBC success story.

As online gambling fans, we all understand that poker popularity has reached all corners of the earth as well as Hollywood. There will be celebrity players like Tilly, Don Cheadle, Welcome Back Kotter’s Gabe Kaplan and even Shannon Elizabeth.

This Sunday’s show will air at 12Pm EST. 3PM PT. For the list of players playing in this Sunday’s episode see above. On the 15^th, we will see Don Cheadle up against Phil Ivey and Gabe Kaplan up against Todd Brunson. On the 22^nd, we will see Chris Moneymaker playing against Joe Hachem and Shannon Elizabeth [playing poker against Rene Angelil (Celine Dion’s husband).

As far as the r showings down the line – players are yet to be posted. We will all be watching to see who wins and how much. The event will be watched by millions.

When you think of Sunday’s you traditionally think of the more traditional sports such as Football and golf – now we finally get to see some poker action on Sunday’s.

Online gambling has become popular and now we get to see more on TV at home – not to mention on a major network.

So, it looks like some of us will take some time off from our favorite online casinos on the next few Sunday’s to get in on some televised poker action. The main breakthrough here is that the events will be on NBC, a huge TV station too, not a cable channel in the middle off the night either. Now, we can see more poker action on a channel other than, ESPN and the other cable networks.
