Antigua
Less
Than
Patient
Anymore
April
8,
2008
Antigua
has
been
fighting
with
the
United
States
for
about
five
years
now
in
regards
to
online
gambling
and
other
issues,
and
has
been
very
patient
with
us.
However,
many
think
that
they
have
reached
the
end
of
their
rope.
With
the
World
Trade
Organization
finding
for
them
on
the
issue
of
the
Unlawful
Internet
Gambling
Enforcement
Act,
they
are
poised
to
move
forward.
The
deadline
passed
last
week
for
the
US
to
comment
or
propose
another
method
of
settlement
for
the
tiny
country
in
regards
to
online
gambling,
however,
they
have
chosen
not
to
try
and
come
to
terms.
Instead,
they
have
left
them
with
the
ruling
of
the
WTO
only.
This
is
not
a
horrible
thing
for
Antigua
as
they
are
going
to
get
their
money.
However,
this
is
bad
for
the
US,
specifically
the
MPAA,
etc.
who
will
be
watching
their
profits
disappear
as
Antigua
keeps
them
for
themselves.
The
country
now
has
the
right
to
duplicate
software,
movies,
etc.
without
having
to
pay
for
the
rights.
This
does
not
take
any
money
out
of
our
President’s
pocket,
but
it
certainly
takes
it
out
of
the
pockets
of
many
other
people.
Antigua
is
planning
on
ignoring
US’s
intellectual
property
rights
and
copyrights
and
will
be
getting
their
money
one
way
or
the
other,
you
can
be
sure
of
that.
It
is
now
up
to
Congress
to
reverse
the
law
and
allow
people
to
participate
in
online
gambling
again.
