Government
Lets
Taxpayers
Pay
for
Online
Gambling
April

So
online
gambling
is
illegal
–
unless
you
work
for
the
government.
If
you
work
for
the
government
not
only
is
it
legal
for
you,
but
the
tax
payers
will
actually
pay
for
you
to
participate
in
it.
This
seems
to
be
the
thinking
of
several
members
of
our
US
government
according
to
the
new
Government
Accountability
Office
(GAO).
Over
the
course
of
fifteen
months,
US
employees
from
departments
such
as
the
US
Postal
Service,
the
US
State
Department,
and
the
Agricultural
Department
have
spent
millions
on
things
like
online
gambling.
In
fact,
40%
of
their
purchases
that
were
charged
to
their
accounts
violated
protocol.
The
departments
used
their
credit
cards
to
pay
for
entertainment,
sex,
meals,
etc.
The
postal
service
spent
more
than
$35,000
on
online
gambling.
They
were
supposed
to
be
used
for
government
expenses
only,
so
how
do
they
justify
spending
that
kind
of
money
on
things
that
tax
payers
cannot
afford,
nor
are
they
allowed
to
participate
in?
The
GAO
is
known
for
watching
the
funds
that
go
in
an
out
of
the
office.
People
might
think
that
just
because
they
have
a
card
they
can
spend
it
on
anything
they
want,
but
there
is
accountability.
Not
only
that,
but
if
you
are
using
the
card
for
illegal
practices
you
are
looking
at
even
more
problems.
One
of
their
specific
functions
is
fraudulent
activity
as
it
pertains
to
it
being
perpetrated
on
the
American
public,
and
many
think
that
this
is a
clear
cut
case
of
it.
