Prime
Games
Advocates
Regulation
April
9,
2008
Timing
their
statement
on
advocating
regulation
with
the
House
subcommittee
hearings
on
the
Unlawful
Internet
Gambling
Enforcement
Act
that
are
currently
taking
place
in
Washington,
D.C.
was
not
only
smart,
but
many
think
it
will
be
effective
as
well.
Prime
Table
Games
has
chosen
to
run
a
full
page
ad
in
the
Wall
Street
Journal
today,
taking
a
strong
and
positive
stance
on
regulation
of
the
online
gambling
industry.
The
ad
was
titled,
“Who
Will
Face
the
Issues,”
and
talks
about
all
of
the
current
problems
that
there
are
within
the
online
gambling
industry.
They
talk
about
how
gaming
fraud,
consumer
protection
and
protection
of
intellectual
property
rights
are
all
major
issues
that
need
to
be
contended
with
immediately.
They
say
that
with
the
state
that
the
industry
is
in
right
now,
it
is
only
going
to
get
worse
as
time
continues
on.
The
company
advocates
taking
a
strong
stance
for
regulation
of
the
online
casino
industry,
and
says
that
Congress
must
act
soon
in
order
to
protect
its
citizens.
They
say
that
there
has
to
be
limits
on
the
incentives
that
are
given
to
gamble,
there
cannot
be
any
affiliate
relationships,
players
must
be
verified,
and
the
site
operators
should
be
responsible
for
that
verification.
They
also
want
players
to
have
the
ability
to
put
themselves
on a
self-exclusion
list
–
which
many
land
based
casinos
already
utilize.
They
also
say
that
there
have
to
be
checks
and
balances
in
the
sense
that
players
must
have
to
prove
that
they
can
gamble
at
the
level
they
are
choosing
to
lose
money
at.
Those
that
do
not
pay
their
gambling
debts
are
automatically
excluded
from
playing,
and
online
gambling
debts
should
not
be
legally
recoverable.
They
say
that
the
online
casinos
should
also
have
to
give
money
to
support
a
fund
that
assists
those
that
have
online
gambling
addictions.
Without
these
standards
in
place,
regulation
of
the
online
gambling
industry
cannot
be
considered.
