Name Brands Could Take Over Online Gambling

There is a new fear for the online gambling world, and it has to do more with what is going on in the industry than it does with outside forces like the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or UIGEA. Up until now there has been a fear that they would never see the UIGEA overturned and they were united for a common cause � the legalization of online gambling.

However, all of those places that have been fighting all of this time are now wondering what they are going to do now that it looks like it might come to fruition. These online gambling sites have been working so hard to get legalized that they never really looked at the big picture to see how it might actually impact them.

The online gambling industry is now starting to realize that they might be within an arm�s reach of getting legalized, but they are also now going to be looking at an increase in competition. There has always been competition in the online gambling world, but now that there are bigger industry names looking to get involved � there is some concern that the little guys who have been fighting this whole time might get squeezed out.

With big names like Harrah�s Entertainment announcing that they have hired PartyGaming�s Mitch Garber to develop an online gambling site for them, the industry knows that it is just a matter of time before the other big names get involved as well. They know that those people who have not previously participated in online gambling will automatically go with a name they trust, and those that are current playing will switch to see what it is all about. Either way they are going to be losing prospective clients to the bigger names.
