NFL Season to Be Expanded?

April 30, 2009

There is a possibility that the National Football League may be expanding their season. Not only does this make football fans excited, but it also thrills the online gambling community because this means that there will be more to bet on. The online gambling community is in complete agreement that it should be lengthened and they are taking bets (of course) on whether or not the proposal will be accepted.

Commissioner Roger Goodell is looking at a season that he will submit to the NFL owners that would cut out two pre-season games and add two more regular season games instead. This would change the Super Bowl as well, for it would end up being in the middle of February instead of the beginning.

The online gambling community would love this because they know that it is not the preseason games that their clients bet on, it is the main games instead. As preseason goes on they might get a few here and there, but for the most part they wait for the regular season to start before they start placing their online gambling bets in earnest.

This means that literally millions of dollars extra would flow through the online gambling coffers. They say that the expanded revenue would be tremendous, so they are all for it. They say that online gambling sites would not be the only ones to profit from it though, as the land based sites would gain in revenue too. With the NFL thinking that this would be a good move for them too, it doesnt seem as if anyone comes out on the wrong end of this.
