Gambling expansion endorsed by Nebraska
coalition August 3
A coalition of towns, cities,
and villages all throughout the state of Nebraska has given
given its stamp of approval to expanded gambling in
Nebraska.
The Nebraska Cooperative
Government Commission endorsement is said to support a
realization by elected officials about the enormous local
public revenue that can be collected by enlarging gambling
in the state of Nebraska
It is said that the
commission includes the communities of Ogallala, Columbus,
Brule, Alma, Big Springs, Orleans, Creston, and Republican
City.
The group Keep the Money in
Nebraska submitted 640,000 signatures on four different
petitions last month to ensuring the gambling measure to the
November ballot in Nebraska. The signatures are currently
being verified by county election commissioners.
Verification is said to be completed by mid-month.
The proposal would legalize 2
casinos in Omaha and approximately 4,900 video gambling and
slot machines in restaurants, horse tracks, and bars located
all over the state.
The Keep the Money in
Nebraska coalition includes keno operators, local
committees, Coast Casinos ( of Las Vegas), and Nebraska's
horse racing industry.
