City Counsel August

Last week in Biloxi Mississippi, the City
Counsel approved the proposed plans to construct a man-made
basin to be built for a theoretical casino venture.
An investment company by the name of Back
Bay Investments ha there eye on developing a casino site on
uplands on the north side of Back Bay Blvd.. On that same
property, approvals where also received from the city of
Biloxi and the Mississippi Gaming Commission about a decade
ago, but never developed forward.
Now that this proposal has been approved
by the City Counsel it also needs approval from the
Secretary of State of Mississippi and the Mississippi Gaming
Commission.
The action of the approval last week
approved the first phase of the proposed development, which
is limited to the actual basin. The developers will have to
return to City Counsel for the approval of the second phase
when they are capable of going forward with the actual
casino construction.
