Trade group joins with cause

The Association of Gaming Equipment
Manufacturers, a trade group for makers
of slot machines and related equipment,
has made a $20,000 donation to to the
Nevada Council on Problem Gambling. The
Nevada Council, an advocacy and
education group linked with the National
Council on Problem Gambling, that puts
out the compulsive gambling pamphlets
found in most Nevada casinos. They also
operate a 24-hour hotline for people
with gambling problems.
Carol O'Hare, executive director for
the Nevada Council said that over the
years they have had support from various
individual gaming equipment
manufacturers in Nevada and that AGEM's
decision to become a corporate member
reflects this industry's undying
commitment to what she says is an
extremely important issue.
AGEM's President, Walt Stowe stated
that his company is proud to join the
Nevada Council on Problem Gambling and
that they look forward to becoming very
involved in their many worthwhile
programs and services that address this
community health issue.,
