In
Connecticut,
a
final
ruling
came
in
on
the
on-going
issue
regarding
(what
the
State
feels)
an
online
gambling
issue
with
Foxwoods
Casino
and
Resort's
web
site.
Foxwoods
is
owned
by
the
Mashantucket
Pequot
tribe.
The
reputed
largestest
casino
worldwide,
found
itself
in
trouble
with
State
gaming
regulators
last
month
after
it
was
discovered
that
the
casino's
new
PlayAway
promotion
contained
an
area
on
it's
web
site
where
gambling
customers
could
check
results
away
from
the
casino.
Not
intending
to
break
any
laws
regarding
online
gambling
in
the
US,
the
company
quickly
shut
down
its
section
on
the
web
site
that
concerned
the
legal
issue.
After
waiting
approximately
one
month
to
learn
the
fate
of
the
promotion,
the
Division
of
Special
Revenue
deemed
it
to
be
illegal.
The
State
said
that
Foxwoods
may
not
offer
the
PlayAway
game
on
the
casino's
Web
site,
further
-
may
not
offer
any
other
game
online
in
order
to
not
be
mistaken
for
online
gambling.
The
PlayAway
promotion
was
touted
by
Foxwoods
as
it's
"Exclusive
new
way
to
play
slots,
card
games
and
your
other
favorite
games
anytime
you
choose,
anywhere
there's
a
computer!"
Foxwoods
maintains
that
it
never
intended
to
break
federal
gaming
laws
in
any
way.
