Rise
and
Fall
of
BetonSports
August 27, 2007
A
new
book
that
is
out,
“The
Rise
and
Fall
of
Bet
on
Sports,”
chronicles
the
life
span
of
the
famous
online
gambling
company
BetOnSports.
It
talks
about
the
way
the
online
gambling
experts
rose
from
all
the
others
to
become
so
popular,
only
end
in
the
incarceration
of
their
CEO,
David
Carruthers.
The
author,
Hacksaw
Hemingway,
has
published
the
online
gambling
book
as
an
e-book
on
Lulu.com.
You
can
download
it
for
$19.99
as a
PDF
download,
and
many
expect
it
to
be
somewhat
of a
fascinating
read,
as
well
as a
cautionary
tale.
It
will
cover
the
online
gambling
industry,
in
addition
to
going
in
depth
into
Betonsports.
Many
thought
that
it
would
be
Carruthers
who
wrote
the
first
tell-all
book
on
the
online
gambling
company
–
especially
since
he
was
the
fall
guy
for
the
company.
However,
Hemingway
has
seemingly
beaten
him
to
the
punch,
showing
how
the
online
gambling
giant
was
brought
down
by
the
government’s
investigation
of
them.
The
book
tells
about
more
than
just
online
gambling
– it
also
covers
the
other
factors
leading
to
the
demise
of
one
of
the
largest
online
gambling
companies
known
to
this
day.
Hemingway
says
that
it
wasn’t
just
the
UIGEA
that
lead
to
the
destruction
of
this
company,
it
was
the
insanity
that
came
along
with
it.
Add
a
healthy
dose
of
sex
and
drugs
and
you’ve
got
a
recipe
for
disaster.
The
book
won’t
do
much
for
the
online
gambling
industry’s
reputation,
or
that
of
BetOnSports’s
rep
either,
but
it
will
show
how
you
can
avoid
the
same
problems
that
they
ran
into.
