Online
Casino
for
Sale
August
17,
2007
With
ChristChurch
Casino
having
been
given
an
ultimatum
of
closing
down
within
seven
months,
they
need
to
find
a
buyer
for
their
online
casino.
The
land
based
casino
has
to
stop
all
online
gambling
–
which
includes
their
two
online
casinos,
poker
rooms
and
online
bingo
venues.
The
New
Zealand
government
has
determined
that
the
online
gambling
that
the
B&M
casino
is
handling
goes
against
their
Gambling
Act,
and
therefore
must
cease
and
desist.
They
say
that
after
fully
investigating
the
company,
they
have
“breached
the
country’s
Gambling
Act.”
They
say
that
the
online
casino
accepted
bets
from
New
Zealand
residents
over
the
internet,
but
the
casino
says
that
they
don’t.
In
fact,
they
say
that
they
put
extra
roadblocks
in
place
to
try
and
keep
them
from
registering
on
their
websites.
However,
it
seems
that
their
roadblocks
have
failed,
leaving
the
New
Zealand
government
to
tell
them
that
they
must
stop
the
online
gambling.
So
the
company
has
informed
the
government
that
they
will
be
selling
the
business
–
and
expected
to
have
it
gone
by
March
of
this
year.
That
has
not
happened
as
of
yet,
and
the
government
says
that
they
cannot
close
their
file
on
the
case
until
it
has
been
completed.
Once
the
online
casino
has
been
sold,
the
government
says
they
will
close
the
file
as
soon
as
they
are
satisfied
that
is
has
not
been
purchased
by a
New
Zealand
resident.
For
now,
they
are
just
waiting
to
see
who
will
purchase
the
online
gambling
venture.
