Those Italians Sure Can Gamble!

It would seem that the Italian�s have a certain penchant for online gambling that other countries do not. They spend more than euros 350 million each year on online poker. It is obviously their favorite game to play

A recent survey conducted by the Consumers Defense and Orientation Association, or ASOC, says that the Italians annually spend an average of Euros 600 each while playing online gambling. But it isn�t just the amount of money they spend; it is the number of people who play.

In many countries online gambling is illegal or at least not as popular. However, in Italy, almost two million residents have participated in online gambling, and gone to an online poker site at least once. About 25% of those people have used offshore online gambling sites to accomplish this.

Interestingly enough, online gambling is not legal in Italy. They are currently in the process of making it legal and figuring out how to license and regulate the online gambling industry though, so the new report should support the decision to do so.

With online gambling getting increasingly more popular with the Italian people, they may want to get a little faster with their decision. Online gambling is only going to get messier from here.
