BC Raises Limit

When playing at online gambling, the whole point is to win as much money as humanly possible. Yes there are those that simply play for the thrill – but they usually have a bunch of money already. Those that play at online gambling, as a rule, are playing because they are hoping that they will strike it rich with a hand of poker or the pull of a handle – and they keep playing trying to get that goal accomplished.
Well, British Columbia just made it a little easier for that to happen for them. The country has had a weekly betting limit of $120 as they were trying to keep control of any form of online gambling addiction. They wanted to make sure that they were protecting their customers. But now they have increased that weekly online gambling limit to $10,000 which does not make everyone happy.
Those politicians that are against the increase in online gambling limits say that the government is going to destroy their country and make them all a bunch of addicts. But the British Columbia Lottery Corporation says that this is not really the case. They say that recent studies show that online gambling does not create addicts. They say that people do better when they are able to set their own limits instead of having the government control it for them.
They also said that recent surveys show that those that have an online gambling addiction were live gamblers first, so they are not concerned about creating an issue. They say that by the year 2014 players will be able to determine for themselves how much they can afford and regulate their own playing.
