Denmark Rules Backed

August 13, 2009

It has gotten tougher and tougher for countries to figure out what to do in terms of the online gambling industry. There is a line that some are not willing to cross while others happily jump over it. Some countries really want to keep their online gambling in house, while others are ready to throw open the doors to the proverbial kingdom.

Denmark is one of those countries that has been struggling with the idea of online gambling. They have been working on their rules since they got in trouble for them before. The EU found that their online gambling was a monopoly and that it violated the rules of the EU’s single market plan. The EC had already given them censure due to their online gambling rules, so Denmark decided to change their rules.

The new online gambling regulations will allow online casinos to compete freely with Dansk Spil. Once the announcement was made by Denmark, online gambling companies were excited because they have been shut out for so long. They say that if Denmark actually makes these rules law within their country they will be able to come back.

Many of the United Kingdom online gambling casinos say that they would be very excited to be able to offer their services in the country. Ladbrokes said that the new online gambling plan was not only great but that it as “fitting for fair competition.” This is one of the things that many EU countries have been trying to work out and have been unable to.
