Barney Frank’s Bill Stands a Real Chance

There is a very good chance that the online gambling industry may get their just desserts this year. For a long time online gambling enthusiasts have been fighting to get the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act or UIGEA overturned. They have had Rep. Barney Frank fighting for them this whole time, and they now have more reps in the White House fighting as well, and as it gets closer and closer to the time where a decision might be made it looks like they might have a large government population supporting it.
Most of the people currently sponsoring the online gambling bill are Democrats, but there are a few Republicans that have joined the boat as well. The law would allow each state to decide for themselves as to whether or not they want to allow slot machines in their state. In addition to that, they could decide how much online gambling they want if they decide that they want a certain amount, but not a lot.
Many know that the government is looking at the amount of money that can be made from bringing in online gambling as it is a billion dollar a year money making enterprise. The government is aware that not only do Americans want online gambling legalized, but by bringing it back as a way to help the economy is a great way for them to save face for the prior administration.
Online gambling is a real money maker and with so many people for the legalization of it there is no way that the government is going to let this go by a second time.
