Pay Pal is Back!

August 9, 2009

In a crazy turn of events, Pay Pal has decided to start accepting online gambling payments from those players located in the United Kingdom. The company had stopped accepting online gambling payments as soon as the US started talking about making online gambling payment processing illegal. They wanted to make sure that they were above the fray and that they could not be held liable for anything that happened on that front.

But now that it looks like online gambling might become legal in the US, it looks like they are looking to get back into the industry. They are taking small steps and allowing non US players to use their services, obviously gearing up for when online gambling is legal again here. They have announced that in the UK you can use their payment processing systems for online bingo and casino sites, which makes everyone happy.

When PayPal was accepting payments it was fast, it was secure, and it was convenient for players. They knew that it was a name that they could trust and so players flocked to them. However, coming back into the online gambling industry, they are looking to comply with all laws and regulations as they don’t want to be a target for the US government.

Right along with this, Google has announced that they are going to be accepting online gambling ads in the UK again. They are of like mind with PayPal in that if the UIGEA is overturned they want to be poised to step back into the online gambling industry in the US.
