CO Gaming approves
three new casino
licenses

In Colorado,
the
Division of Gaming
Commission has
announced its
allowance of
gambling licenses
for two companies
that are seeking to
expand their
operations located
in Central City and
Black Hawk. The
Colorado Gaming
Commission is made
up of five members.
S pokeswoman
for the Colorado
Department of
Revenue, Diane
Reimer, stated that
Ameristar, based in
Las Vegas, plans to
redevelop the
Mountain High Casino
in Black Hawk.
Two casinos in
Central City are
planned by 3C
Gaming, based in
Switzerland. The
licenses were
approved on
Thursday.
The r edevelopment
project on the
Mountain High casino
in Blackhawk is
slated to start as
soon as next week.
The Central City
casinos are
tentatively
scheduled to open
for business in
their original
buildings sometime
in the year 2005.
Ameristar has been a
publicly traded
company since
November 2003.
The pending Central
City expansion is
the most noteworthy
growth for the
gaming town since
the late 1990s.
Central City
currently has 5
casinos. The
additional 2 casinos
will be a huge boost
for city revenue.
