CO Gaming approves three new casino licenses

December 21

In Colorado, the Division of Gaming Commission has announced its allowance of gambling licenses for two companies that are seeking to expand their operations located in Central City and Black Hawk. The Colorado Gaming  Commission is made up of five members.

Spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Revenue, Diane Reimer, stated that Ameristar, based in Las Vegas, plans to redevelop the Mountain High Casino in Black Hawk.

Two casinos in Central City are planned by 3C Gaming, based in Switzerland. The licenses were approved on Thursday.

The redevelopment project on the Mountain High casino in Blackhawk is slated to start as soon as next week. The Central City casinos are tentatively scheduled to open for business in their original  buildings sometime in the year 2005.

Ameristar has been a publicly traded company since November 2003.

The pending Central City expansion is the most noteworthy growth for the gaming town since the late 1990s. Central City currently has 5 casinos. The additional 2 casinos will be a huge boost for city revenue.
