MS OK's
proposed merger of
Vegas gaming giants

Today In Mississippi,
two huge Las Vegas
gaming companies made
another successful step
towards the completion
of their merger deal
when the Mississippi
Gaming Commission
approved a succession of
events involving MGM
Mirage and Mandalay
Resort Group.
The proposed deal was
revealed in July 2004.
T he
commission endorsed
several suitability
applications and
approvals for Beau
Rivage Resorts Inc., and
Circus Circus
Mississippi Inc. in
Jackson Mississippi.
Beau Rivage Resorts and
Circus Circus belong to
the companies involved
in the nearly $8 billion
merger deal.
Mandalay Resort Group
shareholders permitted
the merger late last
week. The merger is
expected to be completed
by the end of March
2005. Still, the deal
needs support from
federal regulatory
agencies along with
gaming regulators in the
many different states
involved.
Last month, in their
filings
with
the Securities and
Exchange Commission, the
companies have fulfilled
most of the requirements
for information from the
Federal Trade
Commission.
