Paddy Power is known as being sort of the jokester of the online gambling world, but they are never mean spirited. However, their latest �joke� is offending many, and some are calling it treasonous. The online gambling site is offering odds on when President Elect Barack Obama might be assassinated.

The online gambling site is offering odds as to whether or not Obama will be assassinated during his first term in office, and many say that it should be taken down. The American Embassy says that it is �offensive� and �in extremely bad taste.�

For their part, the online gambling sire says that they will not remove the bet from their site as they say that it is �nonsense to suggest that their stance could actually encourage anyone to go out and try to kill Mr. Obama.� However, many disagree. They say that they are simply calling for someone to attempt it so that others can be paid out the money if they are successful.

The online gambling site is offering 12-1 odds that he will be killed by a sniper�s bullet and that they will pay out if he is. The bookmaker says that they have had a number of customers from Ireland and the UK ask for odds, and therefore they claim that they are simply appeasing their clients.

Some are calling for a boycott of the online gambling site, saying that should he be assassinated that the site should be brought up on charges for inciting it. They say that some mentally ill person might see this as a call to actually try it. Either way, it is completely inappropriate for anyone to take bets on anyone being murdered, no matter who it is, and Paddy Power should be ashamed of themselves.
