You May Be Looking in the Wrong Place for a New Job

December
27, 2009

Gambling has long been thought of as a great way to make a living if you don’t really have the education to go further. It was not necessarily considered to be the kind of job that one would aspire to as only the uneducated would work there. When children are listing their top favorites of what they want to become when they grow up blackjack dealer is not usually in the top ten never mind the top hundred.

But for those that don’t go to college it is a great way to work your way up to making some pretty decent money – and it sure beats working at McDonald’s the rest of your life. But now that gambling has become so much more than just a place to make sure the floors are clean and the slot machines don’t jam, many people are starting to think that there might be some real career opportunities out there for them.

There are of course your traditional land based casinos that offer everything from dealers to slot machine attendants, to hospitality and cleaning crews. These are the jobs that have traditionally been out there – but with so many more casinos out there today there are many more of these jobs out there as well.

But people don’t really think about the online gambling industry. They need programmers, developers, marketing professionals, etc. The online gambling industry doesn’t really have a home base so it isn’t as though they are looking for attendants and cleaning crews, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t great jobs out there that pay really well for those with the know how to get it done.
