Virginia Might Legalize Online Gambling

It
looks as though the state of Virginia might
actually be one of the first ones to legalize
online gambling through the use of their state
lottery. With so many other states working on
ways of getting online gambling legalized it is
no wonder that they would be on the band wagon
to make it happen – it is just surprising that
they would be ahead of California and Nevada in
actually making it happen.
The state is bringing all kinds of positive news
to the online gambling industry by even
mentioning that they might be ready to make the
leap to legalization. The Virginia Lottery has
announced that they are about ready to add an
online lottery in the state, which would
absolutely make online gambling legal in the
state of Virginia. The lottery is having a hard
time keeping their players interested, so by
going online they think they have a pretty good
shot at bringing interest back up.
Let’s face it – if it comes under the guise of
the first state to allow online gambling, you
are going to have a lot of people participating
just so they can say that they are legally
participating in the United States. The number
of people playing the lottery has drastically
declined, so they are looking at various ways of
making it more accessible and this is just one
way that they are looking at accomplishing that.
Players will be able to access the online
gambling site by playing scratch tickets over
the internet. Now they have to go into a gas
station or convenience store in order to get
them, but that would change if it was legalized.
Supposedly you would even have access over your
cell phone if the move is made – making online
gambling legal in their homes and on their
phones. It is truly a big move for the state,
and many say a slippery slope.
