Alderney Setting Up eGambling

Many people do not know that Alderney is an island in the English Channel. For those that do know, they are probably familiar with the online gambling industry as well, for this is where the island has set its sights. They are working to change the way that the online gambling industry is seen, and with their new regulations they are off to a great start.

The island is planning on providing a “respectable, reliable regulatory framework” for all online gambling companies that wish to do business with them. They are going to have regulations for provisions for different aspects of the online gambling industry such as uncontrolled premises, an Anti-Money Laundering Code, and internal control system and an office just to handle customer complaints.

Their new Alderney eGambling Ordinance has streamlined the licensing process already, and allows operators to set up mirrored sites in their country under a Reduced Activity License. They have already issued 24 interactive online gambling licenses.

They are working hard to take their places among the large number of arenas as they relate to online gambling. They have decided that a free market approach to online gambling would suit them best. Now licensees in this jurisdiction can accepts bets from players around the world.

Before they had much more control over everything, with several ordinances dictating what would be handled and how. Now they only have one ordinance which has made things much easier for everyone involved.
