Problem with Online Gambling Ads

Ever since Google announced that they would be allowing online gambling ads to be displayed on their UK search engine, there have been those that have been questioning that move. Quite a few of the British Members of Parliament, MP, say that they have concerns regarding the online gambling advertising. They say that they have �concerns� related to the decision.

According to the MPs they say that although they understand their desire to bring in more advertising revenue during this time of economic upheaval, but they don�t think that this is the way to go about it. They say that they �support the Church of England�s position� in that by allowing online gambling advertising they are �normalizing� it within their society.

They are afraid that this will add to the ever growing number of gambling addicts that the country already has, and they believe that perhaps they would be better suited to not allowing online gambling advertising. They say that they have an obligation to be �socially responsible� and that they don�t think that this is in line with that.

Google started allowing online gambling advertising back in October, in an attempt to help out their bottom line. They had seen a fairly drastic reduction in their advertising revenue and thought that this would be the perfect way to work on that considering that the online gambling companies had been begging them to allow them to advertise. However, Google is doing it responsibly, and many wonder why the MPs would make such a statement when online gambling is legal in the UK anyway.
