| GamblingPhD menu | EGBA Newsletter February 28, 2009 The European Gaming and Betting Association has launched a newsletter to try and keep people updated to changes in the online gambling industry. The EGBA will issue the newsletter to members and those interested in learning more about the online gambling industry and how it is an ever changing beast. They think that if they let people know the changes to the industry they might get a better understanding of it. They say that keeping those abreast of the online gambling industry helps those in government make sound decisions and teach those that are playing how to participate responsibly. The EGBA is supported by the majority of the online gambling groups in Europe and they try to keep the industry as fair as possible. Their job is to make sure that the playing field within the online gambling community is fair and unbiased and takes care of those that are involved in it. It also protects and serves the players by making sure that they play in safe and secure environments as well. The newsletter is just one way that they are going to ensure that this happens and that open communication is facilitated. The launch comes at the same time as their second annual Responsible Gaming Day, which was a huge success again this year. The EGBA met with the European Parliament to let them know of their concerns and show them how they can make online gambling even safer than before for players, eliminate underage gaming, and combat fraud. |
