One Day for Gambling

The European Gaming and Betting Association just had their second Responsible Gambling Day presentation this week, where they talk about online gambling and how important it is to be responsible with the power that comes with that. Their speech was directed toward the European Parliamentarians and drives home the idea that online gambling operators support the �traceability and transparency of the internet.�

They said that it was important for the EU to make only decisions that are rooted in fact when it comes to online gambling and how it relates to sports betting and the integrity of the sport. This event is attended by MEPs, the EU Czech Presidency, regulators, academics, etc. as well as many members of the sporting world as they discuss how online gambling relates to them.

They talked about how online gambling and the internet could be used to prevent fraud and protect both their players of the sports and of the online betting sites. There is a large concern that online gambling will influence the outcome of games and that many would be tempted to use that as their guide as to how to play the game.

They talked about online gambling and the problems that come with it, as in integrity in sports but also addiction of the gambling itself. They say that the internet lets them study how people play online gambling as well as how much they play it, which allows them to come up with statistics that can be used to combat it.
