Online Gambling
Used to be Different

It would appear in any
industry that it is easy to lose sight of what brought you to where you
are. That it is easy to get caught up in the day to day affairs of
running your business that you forget how you got there in the first
place. This is how it is with the online gambling industry. Those that
have been around since the beginning remember what it used to be like,
and they say that not all of the changes have been good ones.
Many times the online gambling industry blames the passage of the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or UIGEA, as the reason that
the industry became so cold and impersonal – but this is just not the
case. Rather, the online gambling industry started pulling away from
their patrons long before the government told them to. They say that the
online gambling of their youth is not what it used to be and although in
some cases that is a good thing – in many it is not.
They talk about how online gambling sites wanted your business so badly
that they would do anything to get it. And if you did go play at their
online casino that they would constantly check up on you to make sure
that you were having a good time. The owners of the online gambling
sites would personally call you and see how things were and what they
could do to make it a better gambling experience.
Then they got more clients, and more clients, and as they got more they
thought that they didn’t have to worry as much about the ones that they
already had. This was proof that they were doing something right. But
with things getting busier for the online gambling arena, and more
competition being out there – those online gambling casinos are starting
to wonder if they should have been better behaved toward their already
existing customers instead of constantly looking to make more money.
