FBI Doing Investigative Questioning
February
26, 2010
The Federal Bureau of
Investigations is sticking their nose into online gambling again.
According to several sources, the FBI is investigating online gambling
site Full Tilt Poker. The online gambling site is easily one of the
largest online gambling poker rooms out there today – right behind Poker
Stars. The investigation is actually looking at the online gambling
players themselves.
According to sources, the FBI investigations have been targeted on those
online gambling patrons that live in Washington State. Washington is the
only state that allows for online gambling laws to be brought against
the individual players as well as the online gambling companies. This is
assuredly why the FBI has chosen Washington as the source of their
investigations.
As of this point in time, no charges have been brought against any of
the online gambling players, but those that are being investigated are
playing at Full Tilt. Some say that the investigations are really
about getting information to build a case against Full Tilt Poker, not
to actually bring charges against the online gambling players. Others
say that they are trying to find out how it has been working for the
online gambling sites that are still allowing US players to participate
at their sites so that they can crack down on all of them.
Many think that it is much more likely that they are simply trying to
find out how people are continuing to participate in online gambling so
that they can stop them from being able to access the payment processing
and put an end to it. This is the most likely scenario at this point in
time, but we will keep you updated when we know more about the online
gambling investigations.
