Is Ontario
Considering Online Gambling?

With the other Canadian
provinces allowing online gambling, Ontario is starting to wonder if
they are missing the boat. They say that they might want to start
considering online gambling legalization as well since everyone else is.
They said that perhaps it was time that they had their lottery
corporation offer online wagering as a way for them to bring in
additional revenue that is much needed for their public programs.
They said that with online gambling becoming so popular that they really
could not afford to ignore it any longer. They said that the residents
of their province have been asking for it as well, so they think it may
be time for them to look into the addition to their gambling offerings.
First they have to decide if they want to be involved in online
gambling, then they have to see what portion of the population thinks it
is a good idea. Then they will move forward with creating an online
gambling site.
They said that the biggest draw is that their residents will participate
in online gambling, but the money will be going to other provinces if
they do not offer it themselves. He said that there could be millions of
dollars in potential revenue going across their borders because they are
not offering online gambling. They already know that there is online
gambling going on and that their residents are availing themselves of
it, now it is just a matter of looking into how much of it they can get
back into their own country.
They said that it made sense for them to look into it as that online
gambling money could be used in their government run programs instead of
someone else’s. They said that if they act now, or within the near
future, they think that they can get that online gambling money back.
