Sports Betting is
Illegal

In most places in the
United States, sports betting is illegal. Now combine that with the fact
that sports betting at an online gambling casino is also illegal and you
have a hobby that people really don’t want you to be a part of. There
was a law passed years ago supposedly to protect the professional and
amateur sports people from participating in gambling of any kind, and to
keep anyone from throwing any games. However, when the law was passed
there was a decent amount of sports betting going on. Now that the law
has been in effect for several years, the number of people participating
in sports betting has almost doubled.
The fact of the matter is that people are going to be on sports. The
National Football League has taken the stance that they are going to
keep online gambling illegal because then people won’t gamble on
football. Who are they kidding? Online gambling is illegal now and
people are still betting on football – it is what their fans do. They
don’t know how to do anything else.
Those that participate in online sports betting though are not only
breaking the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, but they are
probably breaking the law in their home state. It is against the law to
own and operate a sports betting business, and players need to remember
that. There are some states like New Jersey who are looking to legalize
sports betting in their borders, as well as intrastate online gambling.
They understand that by offering sports betting that they will be
capitalizing on a million, if not billion, dollar industry for their
state. They already know that online gambling will bring in millions for
them, but they know that there is a large portion of their population
that is interested in sports as well and they will jump on the
opportunity to offer it to their clients.
