Sportsbooks Say They Are
Doing Ok

The economy has not left
anyone untouched – this we know. It has become difficult for many people
to pay their mortgages and buy food, never mind play at an online
gambling site. The online gambling arena has said that their numbers are
down, and this is evidenced by the amount of money that is being brought
in even to the most popular online casinos. They have also seen a lot of
online gambling sites go belly up this past year because they just could
not keep up without their normal revenue stream.
But the online gambling sports books say that they have seen some
changes lately – and much of it has to do with football season. There
are of course the games that everyone bets on each week – but come this
time of year you also have your Championship games which bring out a lot
of people who don’t normally vote on the week to week games. They said
that they actually had a modestly profitable day for the National
Football League’s Championship Sunday. They said that the average hold
was between five and ten percent of the volume that they wrote.
It also depended on where that online gambling bookmaker was located.
One in New Jersey said that they were getting a lot of bets from the
northeastern part of the country and that he had a big day because his
players were mostly betting on the Jets to win. But those that did not
cover the three and a half to four point spread on the New Orleans
Saints that made the most that day. They said that they kept getting
late money coming in for the team and that this kept their holds much
larger than they would normally be.
