Online Gambling is
On the Table

With the same old arguments
again about how terrible online gambling is for the world it seems that
they would find another argument. Instead, all we hear is how the online
gambling industry is ruining the world. They say that by legalizing
online gambling you are asking for money laundering, addiction and all
of the crimes that come with that, decreased revenues for the land base
casinos, how it will cause fraudulent activity at sporting events – the
list goes on and on.
But with the government taking a new interest in making online gambling
legal, it just has to really bother those that are dead set against it.
Rep. Barney Frank has been working a long time on getting it legalized,
so to see it really starting to get a big push is a good thing. He just
fought to get online gambling a six month reprieve where the banks don’t
have to implement the newest set of regulations, and now he is using
those six months to strengthen his case against those that want to keep
it illegal.
He is joined by many other supporters in the House of Representatives
and the Senate who also wish to see online gambling legalized. They
understand not only that there is a large portion of the country asking
for it, but also how much money could be made from making it legal.
There are both Democrats and Republicans that would like to see it
legalized – and it helps their case to have people from both parties
working to make it happen.
They believe that Washington has finally started to realize that there
is billions of dollars just waiting out there for the online gambling
industry to take advantage of.
