Teens and Online
Gambling

There is a growing epidemic
among teenagers today – and it is online gambling addiction. Not only
are we creating them with the things that we offer, but we are almost
driving them to it. There was a time when sitting listening to the radio
would be a real treat – now with all of our technology and computers,
etc. we have created a generation of children that don’t know how to
play without some kind of technology involved to give them instant
gratification.
But experts say that it is all of this technology and the amount of junk
that we allow our children to eat that has created this generation to be
more depressed as well. And they have found that the more depressed a
child is the more likely they are to turn to the internet. Many of these
teens have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, depression, etc. and they turn
to the internet only to find the world at their fingers.
With so many online gambling sites out there now, quite often they turn
to those as well. They play the free games and it gives them an
opportunity to play on the online gambling sites without losing any
money. However, it also gives them a false sense of security. They see
how well they do on these free games and it makes them think that they
are going to have that kind of luck when they turn to real games.
There are more and more teens developing these online gambling
addictions, and then they reach an age where they can gamble for real
money and they are left with no money very shortly thereafter. They
forget that they are playing with real money and they keep trying to
duplicate the wins that they had to no avail.
