Women Susceptible to
Online Gambling Addiction?

A recent study has shown
that women are the fastest growing group of online gambling patrons.
Before it was assumed that online gambling was mainly something that men
played at, but as the female population continues to grow it has become
more than apparent that this is no longer the case. More and more women
are taking up online gambling these days, and the online casinos are
taking notice.
The online gambling sites are starting to gear more of their games and
the look of their sites so that they are more appealing to women. They
are trying to entice them to come to play as they know that when they
sit down in front of the computer to play at online gambling that they
are more likely to stay for a longer period of time if they like what
they see. This is common sense. However, with all this catering to
women, the online gambling sites may have been creating monsters and
were not aware of it.
According to a recent study by the University of Manitoba, women are
almost hard wired to develop an online gambling addiction. Researchers
have found that there are specific types of games that are more
appealing to women, but are also more likely to get them addicted. There
are a lot of studies out there already as to how men become addicted to
online gambling, but there are not many for women.
This new study is a real scientific breakthrough for the community, and
they can now use this to find out exactly how these particular games
make them more likely to be addicted to online gambling.
