| GamblingPhD menu | Busted for Online Gambling January 14, 2009 According to a recent police bust, four suspects have been named in relation to an online gambling ring. The suspects have been arrested, but what seems like an easy case turns out is not all that easy. The facts are that the online gambling run has been running at an internet caf� that is located in South Jakarta. According to police, they are not sure how long it has been running, but allegedly they received an anonymous tip about an online gambling ring that was bring ran out of the establishment. Police investigated the claim and after some time of watching the place, they found that there was indeed an online gambling ring going on inside. They named four suspects, all of whom have been arrested. They are Sri Nauli Yuniar Pohan, Tony Thamrin, Kristianto and Mohamad Saleh. However, according to police, none of them are the mastermind behind the online gambling ring. There is another who has been evading police ever since the above four were arrested last December. The final piece in the puzzle is Tjoeng Fo Seng who managed to escape being arrested according to Adj. Sr. Comr. Achmad Rivai. Rivai runs the city police mobile detective unit, and says that all suspects could be looking at up to five years in prison if they are found guilty of the online gambling charge. Upon arresting the above men, at the online gambling establishment they also seized two PCs, a flash disk and Rp 500,000. |
