| GamblingPhD menu | CAP Wont Stop January 29, 2009 It seems that the Casino Affiliate Programs debacle just keeps getting worse. No matter how many times the online gambling affiliate group ends up in the news, next thing you know they are there again. Now they are accused of hacking, and of course they are denying the charges. But you add that to their Chairmans resignation on Sunday and now you have a serious concern. Earlier this month the online gambling sites were all reporting that CAP was showing an interest in a rogue online poker room that was not paying their affiliates. However, the real story seems to be that the interest that was being shown had more to do with the fact that they are a partner in the online gambling site not simply checking things out. All of a sudden, industry luminaries were banned from going to CAP functions or contributing to their forum online. Then their co-founder and chairman Lou Fabiono announced that he was resigning from the online gambling group because he had become the focus of the mess. He said that people were trying to make him the bad guy when really he was just trying to fix things for everyone. He said that even his friends were no longer talking to him. Now someone from Poker Affiliates is claiming that Fabiono and co-founder of CAP Warren Jolly hacked into his account. He says that he has the documentation to support his claims. CAP is still going ahead with their online gambling affiliate party, and it should be interesting to see what transpires there. |
