| GamblingPhD menu | What Will Legalizing Online Gambling Do for the Economy? January 14, 2009 The outgoing administration has made it very clear as to how they feel about online gambling. They think that it is a plight on our society and should be stopped. However, the new administration coming in has made it somewhat clear that they dont necessarily subscribe to that same mentality. There are many people who will be expecting online gambling to be overturned once President Elect Barack Obama takes office. Many think that if online gambling is regulated there will be billions of dollars of revenue coming into the country which will seriously help the US economy to get back on its feet. Some say that the advertising dollars alone that will go into online gambling are worth millions, never mind the income from the regulation of the habit. They think that the casinos in Las Vegas and such places will spend millions wanting to advertise at the online gambling sites, and they are probably right that they will. They will also be likely to start their own online gambling sites and bring in additional money there. It seems that there would be a new system put into place that does not currently exist. The idea is that where the affiliates are currently trying to get people to sign up for the online casinos, this would take its place. They think that even the blogging industry would see a huge boost from it. They say that if the online casinos are able to advertise on all of these different blogs, the online industry would increase their revenue exponentially. |
