European Campaign

The Right2Bet campaign is
spreading the word around Europe and are getting very good feedback. The
campaign is fighting against “consumer led protectionist laws” that they
feel are detrimental to society as a whole. They feel that too many
governments are only seeking to serve their best interests and therefore
they are representing those that they feel cannot speak for themselves.
This time around they have taken their online gambling battle to Poland,
who has just released a bunch of new laws that will limit access to
online gambling. They just had a huge shakeup within their government
that involved a big corruption scandal that involved several members of
their government. The country then moved forward to ban all new ventures
in terms of online gambling and pushed their residents to get their
gambling needs met through the land based ones that the country already
had.
With these new laws against online gambling they were able to ban it and
make their land based casinos into a monopoly and they had the perfect
fodder to accomplish this. They simply pointed to their recent problems
within their government and linked it to online gambling stating that it
would only add to the existing problems and bring more corruption to
their country. They stated that the new laws were only there to protect
their consumers from the potential problems that allowing online
gambling could bring.
The group Right2bet makes it their business to try and get these new
laws overturned and to show their citizens why they should not stand for
the lack of options when it comes to online gambling. They want to see
the governments of these countries embrace the different levels of
online gambling and bring them to the realization that they could stand
to make even more money if they would offer it.
