Bodog Pushing for
Haitian Disaster Relief

The news casts were more than most people could bear to look at they
were so sad. The earthquake in Haiti may have shaken things up to say
the least, but it also shook up the world. How many people were aware of
the dire conditions down in Haiti? Probably not many. But when the news
came on and it showed children sitting next to their dead parents
because they had no where else to go, or the rows and rows of dead
bodies – the world woke up and realized that this country needed our
help – and has needed it for a long time.
Many countries and organizations have stepped forward but there are so
many problems down there it has become difficult to get them any kind of
real help. But the online gambling community has a solution to part of
their problem – and it starts with Calvin Ayre. Ayre is the founder of
the online gambling site Bodog, and he is calling to action the other
members of the online gambling community to give money.
He has already pledged 10,000 GBP and has said that he will match
donations made to his Calvin Ayre Foundation up to $1,000,000. All of
the money raised will go to Haiti to help the people there rebuild a
better life. The online gambling mogul has made it very clear that he
expects others to follow suit and that he is waiting for the other
online gambling companies to step up and donate.
He says that the poor and oppressed have been that way for far too long
and that it is their job to help. He says that the only way they will be
able to succeed in helping these people is if the whole online gambling
community pitches in to help.
