Online Gambling in NJ?

There is talk of the state
of New Jersey adding in their own online gambling within their borders.
There are other states that have considered it as well such as
California and Nevada so it is no wonder that the Garden State would
consider bringing in online gambling. However, many are curious as to
why they would. Nevada has many casinos that are fighting against online
gambling as they feel that it would take more of their revenue – so why
is Atlantic City on the side of the online casinos?
This can be answered fairly simply – and it has much to do with the
casinos themselves. The land based casinos would be able to offer their
services to the online gambling industry as they are licensed and
regulated within the state of NJ. However, they are the only ones that
would be allowed to offer online gambling. If they are licensed within
the state and have a casino, they would simply be offering their
services online now.
The online gambling sites would only be accessible to residents of the
state and if future Governor Chris Christie signs the pending bill into
law it would become effective immediately. This would allow the casinos
to offer their services to residents all across the state that might not
be able to get down or up to see them. The state is sure that this will
increase the amount of revenue that they are now getting from their land
based casinos, which would be helpful since the state has seen a drastic
drop in their revenues since the casino came in to neighboring states.
