| GamblingPhD menu | Online Gambling in Syracuse July 25, 2008 George Bedigian, 63, of Syracuse, New York, was the focus of an online gambling raid. The police arrested Bedigian and accused him of running an illegal online gambling operation and took him to jail. Bedigian was arraigned in Albany last week at the Albany County Court. He stands accused of running a $57 million online sports betting ring that spanned from Syracuse to Albany. He was arraigned on a 25 count for illegal gambling and is considered to be a big catch. The Albany County District Attorney�s Office says that he is known as the gambling king pin of Central New York. Bedigian is accused of running the online gambling ring with a Latham man. It is unknown what exactly the case is against him, but some say that officials have been building it for quite a long time.
