Nova Scotia’s new BetStopper software is something that their online gambling community has been looking forward to seeing. The new software is a free tool that families can use to stop their underage children from participating in online gambling and will not allow them to place bets of any kind. It is a great move forward for the industry.
 
InternetSafety.com announced that they had developed the product and that they are powering it for the Nova Scotia Gaming Corporation. The program is the world’s first online gambling blocking software and parents the world over are wondering how they can get a copy of it to use on their computers. It contains a web site filtering technology that will not allow access to online gambling sites, thus eliminating the fear that your children might be participating in and becoming addicted to, online gambling.
 
Parents were able to get a closer look at the online gambling software, as it was introduced at the 5th Annual We Love Our Children Expo. Parents said that they loved the idea of it being installed on their computers because then they didn’t have to worry about their children using online gambling sites to gamble. With a recent study coming out that shows that children as young as age 10 have been getting involved in the online gambling industry, it was a welcome addition to the Expo.
 
The study says that the average adult problem gambler got their start around the age of 10, and that it starts with land based gambling. From there it moves to online gambling, which is much tougher to get a hold of because no one is watching you play. You can lie online about who you are, so players can log in and bet as much as they want to at the online casino.
