IGT’s Expansion into Mobile Online Gambling
July 6, 2009
International Game Technology has announced that they are changing things up a bit within their organization. They are going to offer mobile online gambling, but they are changing the way that it is within their company, thus ensuring a better future for that department.
They have announced that they are going to change the way that their IGT-UK subsidiary is run so that their mobile and online gambling operations are now integrated. This will let them bring in their recent buy out of Million-2-1 – a major interactive online gambling software developer. They will bring it into their WagerWorks division. Now WagerWorks will be responsible for the sale and distribution of all online gambling game content through the Barcrest Group.
Online gambling software provider WagerWorks will work with them to create new content for the online gambling world. They will continue to work with their land based casinos and systems as well, and they feel that by using their ability to create mobile solutions they will increase their revenue sources in the industry – both land based and online gambling.
The company says that the new move is going to streamline their product sales, and is going to make it easier for them to distribute their online gambling software. They say that they are also going to be able to offer multiple channels and new content that they know their online gambling and land based casino customers are going to love. They feel like it will strengthen them as a supplier as well.
