Poker.com honors WSOP promise

June 28, 2006

Considered by many online casinos players as the home of poker playing, Poker.com has come through on its promise to help players affected by CnR Poker's incapacity to send its online casino tourney winners to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) next month.

This month some online poker players at CnR poker found themselves out of luck when the site was to meet its financial obligation to award WSOP prize packages to ten of its top online casino poker players.

In a very media friendly grand gesture, Poker.com, decided to help these ten players with their plight by offering to pay for their Las Vegas trips and WSOP tournament fees.

Of course, this was done with the cooperation of CnR. Now, many of the ten players have able to be contacted. Contacted and their winning trips have been rebooked and they will now be enjoying all the benefits of their original wins. From Poker.com’s point of view, it is a very nice thing to do and it will generate some very positive media coverage for Poker.com, too. Poker.com also upgraded the $11,000 packages that the players won at CnR, to their $12,500 package that their online casino players won.

One of the players has already come out to say that he was excited and happy to know that Poker.com would offer such a nice gesture. This is not only a great advertisement for Poker.com, but it shows that this online casino poker room has a heart. Personally, we can’t imagine how we would feel if we qualified for the WSOP seat only to find out we could not go. This is a good move by Poker.com. It shows a protective, non competitive side to the poker site.

Spokespeople for Poker.com insist the site is an independent site with it own software. This was a gesture of kindness. Yes, the feedback has been worth paid advertisement and more, but this was about helping online casino poker players realize their dreams. Poker.com is in no way trying to claim that CnR was incapable of running a poker room – they say they just wanted to help the player’s in need.

At this point in time, it looks like all is good. CnR may be having financial problems, but at least their WSOP winners will get to the event. Many of you who subscribe to online casino poker blogs are probably well aware of this situation as it is a hot topic on the Net.
